About the therapy
At our free 20 minute consultation, I will invite you to talk about the personal difficulties that you are bringing to therapy and what changes you are looking to make. This is an opportunity for you to meet me and ask any questions without obligation to make a further appointment.
I see therapy as a collaborative experience, helping you to understand your thinking feelings and behaviour, making long term sustained changes possible in yourself and your relationships. This may involve exploring and resolving a current dilemma - or returning to the root of a problem that is formed in childhood. A clue to this is when we continue to encounter the same problems in relationships and experience the same familiar negative feelings over and over again. Old issues can get in the way without us knowing, and so by making links to our childhood experiences with what’s going on in the present, we can make peace with the past, accepting and embracing who we are.
